Spring 2024 Update
According to MDHHS, decreases in cases and hospitalizations and increased access to vaccines, testing and treatment indicate that Michigan has entered what it terms a recovery phase of the COVID-19 cycle. Please note that these changes will only remain in effect while our community remains in a recovery phase or better. If the COVID-19 exposure and transmission numbers begin to reach a level of concern, requiring our community to enter a “response” phase again, we will reassess and again lean on the guidance of local health officials.
With vaccines are now available for those as young as six months of age, tests in sufficient supply, and medications available to prevent and treat COVID-19 illness masks are currently optional for students, staff, and visitors in Battle Creek Public Schools including while riding BCPS transportation.
We continue to encourage students and staff to practice basic safety precautions like frequent hand-washing, monitoring for symptoms, and staying home when feeling sick.
Isolation Protocols
We continue to recommend the CDC’s most recent guidelines regarding isolation and precautions. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the CDC's website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/

COVID-19 vaccines are now available for persons as young as six months of age.
We highly recommend up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations for students and staff as the best means to limit the spread and severity of COVID-19 in our community so schools can remain open. Vaccines and vaccine information can be obtained from your local health department, local pharmacy, or from your health care provider.
