In-District Transfer Program: How to Apply
Battle Creek Public Schools is committed to ensuring that every student at every grade and in every school is provided with the educational environment and opportunities they need to succeed. To ensure that every student is in the building that is best suited to their needs, BCPS offers an In-District Transfer Program. This program allows families with students in kindergarten through eighth grade the opportunity to move their child to another school within the district for an entire school year.
In-District Transfer applications for the 2022-23 school year will be accepted through Friday, August 26, 2022.
Program Details
- If you wish to have your student attend a BCPS school other than the one assigned to your home address, you will need to complete the In-District Transfer application form below. Documentation of your current address will be required to complete your application.
- This is an annual application/approval process — you must apply each school year, even if your student already attends a transfer school.
- Preference for placement will be given to students who wish to remain in their current transfer school and to siblings of students already enrolled in the desired transfer school.
- Consideration for approvals of In-District Transfer applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis. We will keep you updated on the status of your application via the contact information that you provide.
- BCPS is unable to guarantee transportation to your requested transfer school; it will be your responsibility to arrange transportation for your student if their transfer application is approved.
