Greetings, BCPS Families,
My name is Mrs. Manley, and I’m the principal of Battle Creek STEM Innovation Center, our area’s only STEM-focused middle school. At BCPS, we’ve been working to transform the middle school experience for students by offering a range of options, including the transformation of Northwestern into a K-8 arts-focused school, a service-based learning experience at Springfield, where they’re also now an official International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program candidate school, and, of course, the STEM middle school experience at BC STEM.
BC STEM offers a learning experience integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) into and across all subject areas. Our hands-on learning approach builds critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills that help students excel in school and beyond.
We have two upcoming information sessions scheduled for BC STEM, so if you have a student or students who may be interested in our program, I’d like to invite you to attend. There are two options available:
Wednesday, January 17: 6 PM - 7 PM
Thursday, January 18: 6 PM - 7 PM
Both sessions will be held inside the school, located in our own wing of Battle Creek Central High School, next to the McQuiston Learning Center (corner of Van Buren St. and McCamly St.).
Each information session will offer an opportunity to meet with me and some of our staff, tour the school, hear from some current students, and find out if BC STEM is the right choice for your student. Students are invited to attend as well!
*The annual application period will be opening up in the next few weeks, and we will be accepting applications for students entering grades 6, 7, and 8. Follow our page for more info and updates.
