Testing Tips
At Battle Creek Central High School, we are committed to helping you prepare for these tests. Here are a few tips that will help you prepare to be successful on test day:
- Rested brains learn well and perform well. Make sure to get quality sleep leading up to the days of testing. Research shows that the ability to concentrate, remember, make critical and creative decisions, and communicate persuasively is only possible with quality sleep.
- Please ensure that your student eats a good breakfast on each of the days of testing.
- Students who arrive late will be released much later than the release time (up to 90 minutes later) listed above and we cannot ensure transportation for late arrival students due to scheduling restrictions.
Besides those tips, students are encouraged to set up online accounts with The College Board and Khan Academy. This will allow all students to have the opportunity for individualized test prep and remediation to be created via Khan Academy, free of charge, to assist students to be better prepared for the spring administration of the PSAT and SAT tests. Updated State Testing Electronic Devices Policy
This year, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) released an updated 2022-2023 Electronic Device Use Policy. The new policy lays out clear expectations for the use of all electronic devices to help ensure security and fairness in all state assessments.
