Welcome to our Battle Creek Central Family Newsletter! To support our commitment to clear, consistent communication, we will be using this tool to share news, announcements, and upcoming events.
This week, we have a few key announcements to share. We've shared these announcements through the all-call, and we ask for your partnership in communicating with students at home.
- ❤️February 19-23 is African American Culture Week. Spirit Days are February 19 - Black Love (Freshmen wear red, BEIT wear yellow, and HHS wear green), February 20 - Inspired By (dress like favorite black icon), February 21 - Black Excellence Day (business attire), February 22 - Black Activism Day (black fashion with natural hair), and February 23 - Family Reunion Day (shirt celebrates black history and favorite shoes).
- ⌛️ Count Day is February 14.
- 📽 Tryouts for the play The Outsiders will be February 13 and 14 from 3-5 in the McQuiston Center.
- 🌸 No school on February 16 for Midwinter Break.
- 🚗Freshmen have a career panel on February 19 and 20 on Education and Public Safety.
- 💰 Sohpomores in the Finance pathway have a tour of the Avida Credit Union on February 22.
- 🩸 There will be a Blood Drive on February 23.
- 👨🏿 Parent/Teacher conferences are on February 29 from 3-7.
- 📱 Cell phones must be turned off from 7:30-2:35.
- 🐹 Anime Club meets on Tuesdays from 2:50-5:00.
- 🏊 Men's Swim Team has a meet on February 13.
- 🏀 Men's basketball team has games on February 14 and 16.
- 🏀 Women's basketball team has a game on February 14.
- 🏋️ Wrestling team has a meet on February 14.
- ⚽️ Soccer conditioning has begun for women on Mondays and Wednesdays.
- ✋Attendance: The number one determinant of high school graduation is good school attendance. Students who miss 10% or more of school throughout the year miss out on significant class time and can quickly fall off track for graduation. Please help us support your children in their success by ensuring they are in school, on time, every day.
