Welcome to our Battle Creek Central Family Newsletter! We will use this tool to share news, announcements, and upcoming events to support our commitment to clear, consistent communication.
This week, we have a few key announcements to share. We've shared these announcements through the all-call and ask for your partnership in communicating with students at home.
- 📌 The first meeting for the crew of ALICE IN WONDERLAND will be October 7 in McQuiston at 3:00.
- 🔮 There is a College Fair at the Burma Center on Upton Avenue from 6-8 on October 8. More than 40 colleges will be represented. A bus will leave from BCC at 4:40 and return to BCC by 8:00 if you're interested.
- 🌍 There will be a Freshman Career Fair at BCC on Wednesday, October 9.
- 🎀 School pictures will be on October 10 and 11.
- 🏢 There is no school on Monday, October 14 for students or staff.
- 📚 Juniors attend GVSU or WMU on October 15.
- 💻 Sophomores will tour industries on October 23.
- 📝 Jostens' order day will be in the Commons on Thursday, October 24.
- 🦋 Caregiver/student/teacher conferences are on Wednesday, October 23 from 2-6 and Thursday, October 24 from 3-5.
- 📲 Please make sure the Welcome Center has your current email address, mailing address, and phone numbers. We regularly send out information about grades, absences, and upcoming events. We want to make sure you have accurate information every week.
- 🔮 We hope all students will consider joining an after-school club or a sport. Some of our after-school clubs are: Magic Club, Robotics, National Honor Society, Craft Club, Science Olympiad, Red Cross Club, Gender Sexuality Alliance, NAACP Heritage Quiz Bowl Team, and Hispanic Heritage Alliance.
- 🏅Coed Cross Country has meets on October 5, 8,12.
- 🏈 Men's Football has a game on October 11.
- ⚽️ Men's Soccer has games on October 7 and October 9.
- 🏊♀️ Women's Swim has a meet on October 8.
- 🎾 Men's Tennis has regionals on October 9.
- 🏐 Women's Volleyball has matches on October 7, 9, and 12.
- ✋Attendance: Good school attendance is the first determinant of high school graduation. Students who miss 10% or more of school throughout the year miss out on significant class time and can quickly fall off track for graduation. Please help us support your children's success by ensuring they are in school on time daily.
