March is Reading Month, and schools throughout the district have been finding fun ways to celebrate while building students' love of reading. Post-Franklin Elementary has been hosting guest readers throughout the month, including teachers, district administrators, community members, and most recently, students from Battle Creek Central High School's National Honor Society (NHS). More than 25 NHS students visited the school last week, some of whom reminisced as they revisited the elementary they attended as young students. They spent time not only reading individually or in small groups with students from each grade level but also having some fun getting to know them while they enjoyed lunch and some play time together.
It's always incredible to witness our high schoolers serving as role models for our young learners, especially when they're helping students develop a love for reading and learning. Thank you to all the NHS students who participated and the staff who helped make it happen!
