On Thursday, December 22, W.K. Kellogg Preparatory High School (W.K. Prep.) held a school-wide holiday celebration to send students off to winter break on a positive note. The celebration, held in the school's gymnasium, included food, crafts, cookie decorating, games, and more. The highlight of the event, however, was the first-ever crowning of the school's king and queen.
W.K. Prep. principal Calvin Williams said they wanted to provide this opportunity for students because they don't get a Homecoming like traditional high schools do. Students who wanted to participate volunteered to be included on the Winter Court, and then the student body voted on the king and queen. The winners of the school's first-ever homecoming king and queen were (drumroll, please...) Nisean Alexander and Kyliyah Sango!
Congratulations to the W.K. Prep. king and queen, and thank you to the school's staff for going above and beyond to provide positive school experiences for their students.
