Oct 5, 2023 | District, W. K. Kellogg Preparatory High School
This week, the staff of W.K. Kellogg Preparatory High School put on an event to recognize, celebrate, and encourage their current seniors as they work to fulfill their graduation requirements this year.
W.K. Prep is a high school where students who may be balancing family, health or work demands are able to earn their high school diploma in a flexible educational setting. Here, students and teachers build meaningful relationships, so students are able to achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
At W.K., students move through the curriculum at their own pace, working closely with educators who help them grow and progress. Each of this year's seniors will have the opportunity to walk across the stage as they celebrate receiving their diploma either in January or May, depending upon when they complete their coursework, as the school holds two graduation ceremonies each year.
Principal Calvin Williams expressed his pride in each of the seniors for the progress they'd each made on their individual journeys. He also took time to acknowledge and thank each of the parents in attendance for their partnership and continued dedication to their children's success.
Instrumental in the event's success was W.K. Prep's Communities in Schools Student Support Coordinator Jennifer LaGrand Williams and parent/advocate Jennifer Markos. Prior to the event, Mrs. LaGrand Williams coordinated with the local Chic-Fil-A to procure enough chicken sandwiches to feed everyone in attendance. Mrs. LaGrand Williams is pictured above with Chic-Fil-A staff members Alex Bonke, Elijah Smith, and Ashley Holt.
Thank you to the W.K. Prep. team for your commitment to student success!
